RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH HARTLEY NATURE CENTER CORPORATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A 5,200 SQUARE FOOT ADDITION TO THE BUILDING LEASED BY THE CORPORATION.

Body
CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, Hartley Nature Center Corporation (the "Corporation") leases the existing 7,500 square foot building located within Hartley Park and desires to add an additional 5,200 square feet so that it can provide additional programming and recreational opportunities to its participants and the general public;
WHEREAS, the city was awarded a grant from the Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants Program (the "Grant") to partially fund construction of a 5,200 square foot addition to the building, including sidewalks, utilities, storm water, landscaping, and associated site work (collectively, the "Project") and to fund other projects at Hartley Park. The Grant was authorized under Resolution No. 18-0567, and $1 million of the Grant is allocated toward the Project;
WHEREAS, the costs of the Project outside of the Grant shall be paid solely by the Corporation, and the City shall contribute to the Project through its project and grant management services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a development agreement, substantially the same as the agreement attached as Exhibit 1, with Hartley Nature Center Corporation to formalize the goals and respective roles and responsibilities of the Project; funds received from the Corporation shall be deposited into Fund 205-130-1220-4220-01 - Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Capital, State of Minnesota Capital, Project: CM205-HARTLE-LGCY18.
