RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH ST. LOUIS COUNTY FOR THE 2020 CHIP SEAL PROJECT AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF DULUTH.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with St. Louis County, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, for the 2020 chip seal project at various locations in the city of Duluth. The city’s cost is estimated to be $400,000, to be paid from Street Improvement Fund 440, Department/Agency 038 (Public Works and Utilities), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), St. Louis County project no. CP-0000-430506, city project no. 1858.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with St. Louis County for the 2020 chip seal project. The county is bidding a large chip seal project and the city is adding work into the county’s larger bid package to achieve a savings of scale. The city intends to place a chip seal on portions of Maxwell Avenue, Anoka Street, Woodland Avenue, Clover Street, East Eighth Street, Kenwood Avenue/Cleveland Street intersection, Cleveland Street, Highland Street, Central Avenue and Bristol Street. The county will bid and administer the project, and the city will provide construction inspection on the city portions of the project. City project no. 1858, St. Louis County project no. CP-0000-430506, funding from the Street Improvement Fund.
