RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE TO THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR A CONSERVATION PARTNERS LEGACY GRANT OF $30,385 FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESTORING RIPARIAN UPLANDS ON AMITY AND KINGSBURY CREEKS.

CITY PROPOSAL:

 

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for a Conservation Partners Legacy grant of $30,385 to restore riparian uplands on Amity and Kingsbury Creeks as depicted in Exhibit A.

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth has the legal authority to accept the money, and financial, technical and managerial capacity to ensure proper planning and maintenance of the project. Funding from 205-130-1220-CM205-NATRES-19CPL-2019 CPL Amity/Kingsbury Creek Restoration Grant (Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Capital, State of Minnesota Capital, Natural Resources, 19CPL-2019 CPL Amity/Kingsbury Creek Restoration Grant).

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, the city will provide the required ten percent match through Parks Capital funds.

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, the Duluth city council names the fiscal agent for this project as Wayne Parson, City of Duluth Chief Financial Officer, 411 West First Street, Duluth, MN 55802.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The city of Duluth has been awarded $30,385 from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for a Conservation Partners Legacy Grant for restoring riparian uplands on Amity and Kingsbury Creeks. The city will provide a ten percent match from existing funding.
