CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to apply for, and, if accepted, receive a grant award and execute all necessary contracts for implementation of a grant project from the Minnesota Lake Superior Coastal Program for a grant in the amount of $5,110, to be deposited into Stormwater Fund 535, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1915 (Utility General Expense), Object 5439-01 (Special Projects & Events).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes application for and acceptance of a $5,110 grant from the Minnesota Lake Superior Coastal Program. If awarded, these funds will be used for a project, City of Duluth Trash Collection Best Management Practices, which entails design, construction and retrofitting of four screens into existing stormwater conveyance structures to capture trash before it discharges into the St. Louis Bay Estuary in runoff from the downtown region. This grant will assist by funding up to 80% of the costs associated with executing this project to completion.
