CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with GF Urecon Ltd for the purchase of pre-insulated pipe, fittings, valves and accessories in the amount of $674,777.09, payable from 540-0920-1499-5530 (steam, steam department, steam non-operating, improvements other than buildings).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of pre-insulated pipe, fittings, valves and accessories for phase 3 of the Superior Street steam to hot water conversion project and for the 4th Avenue steam to hot water conversion.
This type of pipe is manufactured specifically for District hot water heating systems. The city was able to take advantage of its tax exempt status by purchasing the materials directly.
Purchasing issued an invitation to bid on January 3, 2020, and received 2 bids as listed below. GF Urecon Ltd submitted the lowest responsive bid.
