CITY PROPOSAL:

                     RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an interagency agreement with the city of Superior (“Superior”) and the Duluth Transit Authority (“DTA”), substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, whereby city staff will review and evaluate DTA and Superior processes and procedures to verify conformance to federal transit administration (‘FTA”) requirement for a minimum fee of $1000.00 a month, funds to be deposited into fund no. 110-132-1301-4264 (General Fund, Planning & Construction Services, Planning & Development, Duluth Transit Authority). 

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an interagency agreement for public transit oversight between the city of Duluth, city of Superior, and the DTA. The DTA board and Superior are required by federal regulations to oversee and audit the transit system and the management contractor to ensure DTA operations are conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws, statutes, ordinances and regulations.  City of Duluth staff will spend a minimum of four hours a month conducting reviews and evaluating DTA processes and procedures to verify conformance to FTA requirements.
