CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend contract L30208 with HGA, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, for additional design services in the amount of $14,700, payable from 452-030-5530; HANDHTAX-1502 (Tourism & Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvements Other than Buildings; Half & Half Tax Projects - Zoo Restoration).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to contract L30208 with HGA for design of the Lake Superior Zoo Brown Bear Exhibit. The resolution authorizes an increase of $14,700 for the design of the tensioned cable mesh system on the Lake Superior Zoo Brown Bear Exhibit project for a new total of $402,440. Costs will be covered by proceeds from the half and half tourism tax for outdoor recreation improvements in the St. Louis River Corridor and state bonding funds for Lake Superior Zoo capital improvements.
The additional work consists of structural engineering services for specialty items related to acrylic frame and tension cable mesh support design.
