RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR LIGHTING, EMERGENCY VEHICLE PREEMPTION, AND SIGNAL SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS UPON, ALONG AND ADJACENT TO TRUNK HIGHWAY 35 (LAKE AVENUE) WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS UNDER STATE PROJECT 6982-331 AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $103,460.22.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into cooperative construction agreement 1036093 between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A. This agreement provides for payment by the city to the state of the city’s share of the costs of lighting, emergency vehicle preemption and signal system improvements upon, along and adjacent to Trunk Highway 35 (Lake Avenue) within the city limits under state project 6982-331 (city project no. 1689) at an estimated cost of $103,460.22, payable from Municipal State Aid funds.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute the agreement and any amendments to the agreement identified as MnDOT number 1036093.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with MnDOT to pay the city’s share of the costs as part of MnDOT’s T.H. 35 improvement project. This agreement provides for payment of the city’s remaining cost share, to be paid from Municipal State Aid funds.
