RESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH COUNTY AWARD OF THE RICE LAKE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that pursuant to the requirements of Paragraph 4 of the Rice Lake Road Reconstruction cooperative agreement, the city hereby concurs with the award of the Rice Lake Road reconstruction contract to KGM Contractors, Inc., whereas the city’s share of the contract is $349,718. The working fund will be Permanent Improvement Fund 411.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to formally concur with the award of the construction contract for the Rice Lake Road reconstruction project to KGM Contractors, Inc. for improvements in the amount of $4,072,366.47.
The Rice Lake Road reconstruction project is a combined project of the city and St. Louis County, pursuant to which the county will construct or replace sidewalks on adjacent Arrowhead Road and Technology Drive, and will construct a turn lane on Technology Drive and replace the existing signal system (city project no. 1758). The city will reimburse the county for this work. The county at its cost will replace the driving surface, signal systems, sidewalks, curb, gutter, and storm sewers on Rice Lake Road from Arrowhead Road to a point 941 feet south of Kruger Road. The city’s share will be paid out of the associated funds, including Permanent Improvement Fund 411, MSA funds, Special Assessment Fund 410, and Signal & Lighting Fund 550,
Adjacent property owners, in accordance with agreements signed in 2019, will reimburse the city for sidewalk work on Technology Drove via special assessment.
