CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend agreement L 30294 with Barr Engineering Co., substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, for professional services related to DWP Trail and Ely’s Peak Tunnel Rehabilitation for an increase of $58,700 and a new total amount not to exceed $78,700, payable from 452-030-5530-HANDTAX-1528-04 (tourism & recreational projects, finance, improvements other than buildings, DWP trails, legacy project).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to increase agreement L 30294 with Barr Engineering by $58,700 for a new total amount of $78,700 for professional services needed to support rock fall mitigation work along the DWP Trail.
Currently, there is overhead loose rock along the DWP trail that could impact the trail and trail users. This project will remove hazard rock from the rock cuts and tunnel area through various methods such as scaling, bolting and wire mesh installation.
Barr Engineering will continue to provide professional services for this project, which if approved, will now include bid documents and assistance, and onsite construction administration to oversee rock removal requiring specialized experience.
