RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SANITARY SEWER LIFT STATION 15 RELOCATION IN MICHIGAN STREET NEAR INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $5,085,091.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into cooperative construction agreement 1036438, substantially in the form of Exhibit A attached hereto, between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.  Pursuant to this agreement, the city will relocate a sanitary sewer lift station to facilitate MnDOT’s Twin Ports Interchange project within the city limits under project number 6982-322 at an estimated cost of $5,085,091.   These funds are payable from Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5533 (Capital Improvements - Revenue), city project no. 1803.  Reimbursement from MnDOT will be receipted to Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1900 (Public Works Director’s Office), Object 4700 (Other Sources).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an agreement with MnDOT to reimburse the city’s share of the costs as part of MnDOT’s I35, I535 and US 53 improvement project (Twin Ports Interchange project).  This project relocates the existing sanitary sewer lift station currently located within the public right of way.  MnDOT will reimburse the city for the entire cost of this project.  The estimated cost is $5,085,091.
