CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into an agreement with TRC, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, for professional engineering design services for the improvement of MNDOT outfalls 1 and 2/3 for a total amount not to exceed $200,782, payable from fund 535-500-1905-5533, Util-1867 (stormwater, public works and utilities, capital incl deprec/debt svc], capital improvements-revenue; project 1867 3rd & 7th Ave E outfalls)
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with TRC for professional engineering design services for the rehabilitation of MNDOT Outfalls 1 and 2/3 for an amount not to exceed $200,782.
Outfalls 1 and 2/3 are located at the southwest corner of Lake Superior, and have repeatedly incurred sedimentation and sometimes total blockage during storm events. This often results in Interstate 35 flooding and emergency outfall cleaning operations.
The City has entered into an agreement with MNDOT whereby MNDOT will fund the project and the City will manage the project; thereby allowing the City to coordinate the work with existing work currently being performed by TRC for the restoration of the Lakewalk and shoreline.
