Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The purpose of this resolution is to formally concur with the award of the construction contract for the 2020 Chip Seal project to KGM Contractors, Inc. for improvements in the amount of $2,492,531.13, with the city responsible to reimburse the county for its share of $175,641.91.

The 2020 Chip Seal project is a combined project of the city and St. Louis County, pursuant to which the county has bid a large chip seal project and the city has added work into the county’s larger bid package to achieve a savings of scale.  The city intends to place a chip seal on portions of Maxwell Avenue, Anoka Street, Woodland Avenue, Clover Street, Kenwood Avenue/Cleveland Street intersection, Cleveland Street, Highland Street, Central Avenue and Bristol Street.  The county will administer the project, and the city will provide construction inspection on the city portions of the project.  The city’s share will be paid out of Street Improvement Fund 440.
