RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 19-0793, ADOPTING LICENSE, PERMIT, FINE, PENALTY AND OTHER CHARGES FOR 2020, TO ADD FINES FOR VIOLATION OF SECTION 34-45 REQUIRING FACE COVERINGS INDOORS SPACES OF PUBLIC ACCOMMODATION.

By COUNCILORS FORSMAN, TOMANEK, KENNEDY, AND SIPRESS:
WHEREAS, the Duluth City Council approved ordinance 20-004 that amends Duluth City Code Chapter 34 by adding Section 34-45 requiring face coverings indoors spaces of public accommodation;
WHEREAS, Duluth City Code Section 34-45.4(b) provides in part that violations of Section 34-45 are punishable by fines not to exceed those set in accordance with Section 31-8 of this Code for the first, second, and third offenses;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolution 19-0793 adopting license, permit, fine, penalty and other charges for 2020, is hereby amended by adding Exhibit A attached hereto;
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to set administrative fines for violations of the Duluth City Code Section 34-45 (face covering required in places of public accommodation).
