RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT TO ESTABLISH A PROCESS FOR SELECTING CITY REAL ESTATE ASSETS FOR SALE CONSISTENT WITH THE ADOPTED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the 2011 Mayor’s Task Force on Reuse and Protection of Public Lands called upon the city to establish a systematic, principled, and evidence-based public process for identifying city-owned real estate that may be appropriate for sale; and
WHEREAS, the Imagine Duluth 2035 Comprehensive Plan reaffirmed the recommendation of the 2011 Mayor’s Task Force to establish a process for selecting city real estate for sale, including Open Space Policy #2, Examine the value and need for all of Duluth’s publicly owned open space; and
WHEREAS, the city of Duluth has not yet established a formal process for selecting city real estate for sale; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council supports the establishment and implementation of a process for selecting city real estate assets for sale consistent with the Imagine Duluth 2035 Comprehensive Plan.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to express the City Council’s support for establishment and implementation of a property selection process that will identify City-owned real estate that may be appropriate for sale consistent with the Imagine Duluth 2035 Comprehensive Plan.
