RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE DESIGNATION OF WESTON-TIFFANY WINDOWS AS A LOCAL HERITAGE PRESERVATION LANDMARK.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED that the city council hereby affirms the designation of the Weston-Tiffany Greysolon Du Lhut window and the Weston-Tiffany Minnehaha window by Ordinances No. 10029 and 10030, adopted on May 24, 2010, as local heritage preservation landmarks.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The Weston-Tiffany Greysolon Du Lhut window and the Weston-Tiffany Minnehaha window were designated as local heritage preservation landmarks in 2010 following actions by the heritage preservation commission and the city council. This action affirms the local heritage landmark designation of the windows. The guiding principles for the windows, in the file from the 2010 actions, state:
Tiffany Window Guiding Principles
• The City supports protecting and preserving this asset for the citizens of Duluth and these windows should be displayed publicly together within the city of Duluth.
• A commitment to create a long-term plan to ensure the protection and preservation of the windows.
• The city consents to and supports local landmark designation of the windows as public art.
• There is a shared interest in developing a plan to maximize public benefit of these windows for the citizens of Duluth.
