CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a FY20 Justice Assistance Grant Program award from the United States department of justice, bureau of justice assistance, office of justice programs, in the amount of $32,379 to be used for state and local initiatives including First Witness Child Advocacy Center and Duluth police department first responder safety; and further are authorized to execute a grant agreement substantially the same as the attached Exhibit A and to accept said grant, funds to be deposited in Revenue Fund # 215-200-2307-4209-02 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2019 JAG, Direct Federal Grants Operating) and expenses to be paid from Expense Funds # 215-200-2307-5447 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2019 JAG, Payment to Other Government Agencies), Fund # 215-200-2309-5319 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2019 JAG, Other Professional Services), and # 215-200-2307-5580 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2019 JAG, Capital Equipment).
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially the same as the attached Document A, with the St. Louis County sheriff's office, who is a partner of the city under this grant.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The Duluth Police Department is the designated recipient and fiscal agent of a FY2020 Justice Assistance Grant ("JAG") from the U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $32,379. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is a partner with the City under this grant as the "disparate" jurisdiction.
