CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to amend contract L30398 with Parsons Electric, LLC, for construction of the Duluth Energy Systems (DES) steam to hot water conversion system balance of plant electrical upgrades, increasing the amount by $143,438.01 for a new total contract amount not to exceed $716,404.01, payable from fund 540-920-1499-5530 (steam; steam department; steam non-operating; improvements other than buildings).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an increase in the amount of $143,438.01 to contract L30398 with Parsons Electric, LLC for electrical upgrades for the construction and installation of a steam converter system (SCS) in the DES Plant, for a new total contract amount not to exceed $716,404.01.
There are two (2) city change orders covered under this increase. Change Order 1 is for additional branch circuits, harmonic filters light fixtures 208v motor and other items identified as add alternates to the base bid. Change Order 2 is for revised gear changes, temporary generator power to swap out the existing main switch gear, and the demolition of an existing 400A circuit and extension of the circuit to a new panelboard.
