CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 62 of the City Charter, the city council hereby expresses its intent to cause the construction of a storm sewer extension along the existing road right-of-way of Woodlawn Street to serve the below-described property, and hereby requests that the mayor prepare or cause to have prepared plans, specifications and estimates therefor, and to file such plans and estimates with the special assessment board, together with a recommendation as to what portion of the costs should be paid by special assessment, the number of installments in which assessments may be paid, and the properties which should include the special assessment. The storm sewer extension will serve the following properties:

LOTS 2010 THRU 2017, BLOCK 143, CROSLEY PARK ADDITION TO DULUTH

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution begins the formal process of making assessable improvements for construction of a storm sewer extension to serve the property at 4832 Woodlawn St. The extension of the storm sewer benefits the property and the City of Duluth by helping to eliminate storm water runoff onto the street which causes ice buildup during winter months. This ice buildup causes access issues for the resident as well as additional maintenance to City Operations. The city will split the cost of this storm sewer extension because it will help eliminate city maintenance expenses. See attached location map.

As provided for in Section 62 of the Charter, the process can be initiated either by petition or by action of the city council itself. This case is by petition by the owner at 4832 Woodlawn Street.
