RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF A GAS ODORIZATION SYSTEM FROM MILTON ROY, LLC, IN THE AMOUNT OF $47,930.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Milton Roy, LLC for the purchase of one YZ Next Generation Zero Emissions odorization system in the amount of $47,930, payable from 520-500-1960-5220 (gas, Public Works and Utilities, natural gas, repair and maintenance supplies).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of a gas odorization system from Milton Roy, LLC.
Odorization of natural gas is required by federal law. The City of Duluth has four odorizer units installed on our natural gas distribution system and YZ is the only company that makes the odorizer. Milton Roy, LLC is the authorized distributor in Minnesota for the YZ odorization system.
This purchase will replace one of the existing odorizer units which is beginning to fail.
