CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Motorola Solutions for the purchase of 88 portable radios for Public Safety in the amount of $406,393, payable from the following funds:

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of 88 portable radios for use by Public Safety staff.
As part of a multi-year replacement plan, these units will replace radios for the Police Department that are no longer supported or able to be repaired upon failure. This purchase includes essential accessories such as speaker/microphones, encryption, batteries, programming software, and wi-fi connectivity.
This purchase is against Minnesota State Contract 119587, Release R-651(5) with added discounts. Motorola Solutions is the only source compatible with the Minnesota State ARMER radio network.
