CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the city of duluth, in its commitment to fight the negative impacts of litter and illegal dumping, supports a community initiative called, “Keep Duluth Clean” that aims to provide opportunities and events to remove litter from our public spaces and supports the education of the public on the proper disposal of garbage.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to apply for a grant up to $5,000 from the Ordean Foundation, without a match, to support efforts related to the Keep Duluth Clean initiative.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to apply for a grant with the Ordean Foundation in an amount up to $5,000 to support the Keep Duluth Clean initiative. Grant funds will support the work of the Office of Sustainability, Park Maintenance, the Keep Duluth Clean committee and the Mayor’s Office to provide opportunities and encouragement to remove litter from public spaces.
