RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with AMI Consulting Engineers, for Lakewalk and shoreline rehabilitation phase IV engineering services for an amount not to exceed $428,402.95, payable from fund 225-125-1815-5310-STRM1018 (Disaster Recovery Fund; Finance; Contract Services; Storm Surge October 10, 2018).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with AMI Consulting Engineers for Lakewalk and shoreline rehabilitation phase IV engineering services. These services include assessment, coastal analysis, design development, regulatory coordination, biddable construction documents, bid support and construction administration for phase IV of the Lakewalk and shoreline restoration project.
The October 10-11, 2018 storm caused significant damage to portions of the Duluth Lakewalk and shoreline, which are of critical importance to the City of Duluth. Repairs have been ongoing since 2017; this will be phase IV of the project. Restoration of these areas will allow for safe public access and long-term protection of the City’s shoreline infrastructure.
Purchasing issued a Request for Proposals on January 15, 2021 with the goal of qualifying multiple firms. Three proposals were received by the due date. The proposals were evaluated by a team of City staff; and all three firms were deemed qualified. AMI Consulting Engineers received the highest ranking when both technical and cost evaluations were completed and is recommended for award of the primary contract.
