CITY PROPOSAL:

 

                     RESOLVED, that the city council hereby increase the total expenditure of the 2021 CDBG Program by an amount of $735 due to an increase in the allocation to the city by HUD from the original estimate of $2,426,000 to the final HUD award of $2,426,735 and authorizes changes to contracts as set forth below:

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution finalizes the 2021 CDBG Program portion of the Community Development program. The city budgeted $2,246,000 for the FY 2021 HUD award to the CDBG program in Resolution 21-0078R. The federal Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) officially notified the city of the FY 2021 CDBG allocation on February 25, 2021 for the program year that runs from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022. The award letter from HUD awarded $2,426,735 to the CDBG program, which is an increase of $735 from the anticipated amount. A public comment period was held from December 19, 2020 to January 18, 2021 and a public hearing on January 5, 2021. The committee’s recommendation and initial council resolution included a funding contingency plan that set the amounts included in this resolution.
