Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution finalizes the 2021 Emergency Solutions Grant Program portion of the Community Development program. The city budgeted $208,000 for the FY 2021 HUD award to the ESG program in Resolution 21-0080R. The federal Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) officially notified the city of the FY 2021 ESG allocation on February 25, 2021 for the program year that runs from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022. The award letter from HUD awarded $206,941 to the ESG program, which is a decrease of $1,059 from the anticipated amount. A public comment period was held from December 19, 2020 to January 18, 2021 and a public hearing on January 5, 2021. The committee’s recommendation and initial council resolution included a funding contingency plan that set the amounts included in this resolution.
