CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Veit & Company of Rogers, MN for the Westwood Lane Sanitary Sewer Extension Project in the amount of $218,000, payable out of Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5535 (Non-Capital Improvements), with a portion of these costs to be assessed.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the award of a contract for a sanitary sewer extension along the existing utility easement between Denim Drive and Lot 4, Block 2 of the Western Woods Division, as well as along the property within Western Woods Division to Veit & Company, Inc. in the amount of $218,000. Veit & Company was the lowest responsible bidder of the four companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate for construction was $168,930. $168,930 of the project costs will be assessed to the property owner. Although the bids came in over the amount to be assessed, engineering recommends moving forward due to the cost savings associated with the Decker Road project. The remaining $49,070 will be paid out of the Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5535 (Non-Capital Improvements), city project no. 1902.
