CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to request and accept from St. Louis County, on behalf of the State of Minnesota, the following described tax-forfeited lands located in St. Louis County, Minnesota for economic development purposes:

NE1/4 of SW1/4, Section 4, Township 48, Range 15 West of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
EXCEPT MINERALS

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute all required documents in connection with the request and acceptance of the property described above and pay the sale price of $34,100.00, plus all administrative fees, recording fees, and other costs associated with the conveyance(s); payable from Fund 110-700-1420-5441.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the request of and accept certain tax forfeit land from St. Louis County, on behalf of the State of Minnesota, in the amount of $34,100.00 for economic development purposes. The property is located near the intersection of Becks Road and Gary Street. An aerial view of it is depicted on the attached Exhibit A.

Under Resolution No. 21-0224, the City authorized a purchase agreement with Veit Companies, LLC whereby the City would acquire this property from the State of Minnesota and convey it to Veit so that Veit can construct an office building and vehicle maintenance structure. Ordinance No. 21-005 authorizes the sale of the property to Veit (once acquired by the State).
