CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a sub-recipient grant agreement, substantially the same as the attached Exhibit A, with Churches United in Ministry, to hire two workers enrolled with Workforce Development as food shelf workers to assist with COVID-19 crisis response; the sub-recipient grant will not exceed $38,891 and will be paid from fund no. 268-031-6230-WD30OPIO.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The city’s workforce development department received a grant in the amount $183,530 from the State of Minnesota, acting by and through its Department of Employment and Economic Development, Employment and Training Division ("DEED") under the COVID-19 Disaster Recovery Dislocated Worker Grant Program.  This resolution authorizes city officials to execute a sub-recipient grant agreement with Churches United in Ministry (“CHUM”) to provide funds in the amount not to exceed $38,891 to be used to hire two dislocated workers as food shelf workers to assist with COVID-19 response, including assisting with food shelf operation and food distribution, processing food donations, and assisting with mobile delivery program.
