CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant from the Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund in the amount of $12,832 to fund the following projects, with funds deposited as specified:
1. Parks and Facilities Division -Chester Bowl Improvement Club-Chester Bowl Chairlift Electrical Upgrades: $5,000, deposited to fund 205-130-1220-4270-CM205-PKMTCE-DSACF.
2. Sustainability Division - City of Duluth -Safe and Sustainable Elder Outreach: $2,832, deposited to fund 205-130-1220-4270-CM205-PRGRMG-DSACF.
3. Parks and Recreation Division - Duluth Heights Amateur Hockey- Rink Repair & Community Exchange Program: $5000, deposited to fund 205-130-1220-4270-CM205-PRGRMG-DSACF.
FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper city officials are further authorized to execute grant agreements with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, for the specified grant purposes.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to execute a grant agreement with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation and accept a grant from the Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund in the amount of $12,832.
The grant will support the work of the Parks and Recreation division, the Parks Maintenance Division, and the Sustainability Office for the following purposes:
1. Parks and Facilities Division - Chester Bowl Improvement Club-Chester Bowl Chairlift Electrical Upgrades: $5,000, to support the replacement of the chairlift's electrical system.
2. Sustainability Division - City of Duluth -Safe and Sustainable Elder Outreach: $2,832, to be used to distribute tables and wifi-hot spots to elders in the community.
