RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FIRST AMENDMENTS TO THE SUB-RECIPIENT FUNDING AGREEMENTS WITH ARROWHEAD ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AGENCY (“AEOA”) AND NORTHEAST MINNESOTA OFFICE OF JOB TRAINING (“NEMOJT”) FOR EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES FOR DISLOCATED VERSO EMPLOYEES TO INCREASE THE FUNDING AMOUNTS BY $21,640 FOR AEOA AND $32,250 FOR NEMOJT AND TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENTS TO JUNE 30, 2023.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into First Amendments to sub-recipient funding agreements with Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (“AEOA”) and Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training (“NEMOJT’), substantially in the form as those attached hereto as Attachments A and B, to increase funding for AEOA by $21,640, not to exceed $57,640, and funding to NEMOJT by $32,250, not to exceed $107,250, funds to be paid from fund no. 268-031-6228-VERSO (workforce development, grant division, miscellaneous workforce development grants, VERSO) and to extend the term of the agreements to June 30, 2023.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to approve first amendments to the sub-recipient funding agreements with AEOA and NEMOJT providing employment and training services designed for dislocated VERSO employees increasing the funding to AEOA to $21,640 and to NEMOJT by $32,250 and extending the term of the agreements to June 30, 2023.
