RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF DULUTH, MINNESOTA, FOR REAL PROPERTY IN THE DENFELD NEIGHBORHOOD, AT NO COST TO THE CITY.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept the conveyance of real property from The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth, Minnesota (the “HRA”) legally described below (the “Property”), at no cost to the city:
Lots Three (3), Four (4), Five (5), Six (6), Seven (7), Eight (8) and Nine (9), Block Six (6), Merritts Addition to Duluth, according to the recorded plat thereof, EXCEPT all minerals and mineral rights.
St. Louis County, Minnesota.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the conveyance of the Property from the HRA.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to accept the conveyance of certain real property from The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth, Minnesota (the “HRA”) for property in the Denfeld neighborhood near 37th Avenue West between Grand Avenue and Wade Stadium (the “Property”), at no cost to the City. The acceptance of the Property and subsequent filing of this resolution and the quit claim deed will effectuate the conveyance of the Property from the HRA to the City.
A creek runs through the Property, which makes it hard to develop and HRA desires to transfer it to the City. The City owns nearby land to the southeast that is used for Wade Stadium and directly northwest that is used for parking purposes. An aerial image of the Property is outlined in red on the attached Exhibit A.
