CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept an award from the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) in the amount of $45,000 to purchase an accreditation management program through PowerDMS, Inc. to support the Duluth Police Department's CALEA accreditation process and to execute a grant document substantially the same as the attached Document A;
FURTHER RESOLVED, that that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a software service agreement with PowerDMS, substantially in the form of the attached Document B, for a period of three years for the total amount of $39,699.18 with funds to be deposited into Fund 215-200-2236 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, Community Policing Development Grant) and expenses payable from Fund 215-200-2236-5414 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, Community Policing Development Grant, Software Licenses and Maintenance).

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the acceptance of a grant from the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) in the amount of $45,000. These funds will be used to purchase an accreditation and management program through PowerDMS, Inc. This program is utilized by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) to support and facilitate the accreditation process.
