RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NORTH SHORE SCENIC RAILROAD AND LAKE SUPERIOR RAILROAD MUSEUM IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the city council approved $50,000 as an operating subsidy to the North Shore Scenic Railroad and Lake Superior Railroad Museum in resolution 21-0995R passed on December 20, 2021 that appropriated the estimated 2022 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with the North Shore Scenic Railroad and Lake Superior Railroad Museum in an amount not to exceed $50,000, payable from 258-030-5436-12; (Tourism Taxes, Finance, Tourism Tax Allocations, Miscellaneous).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with the North Shore Scenic Railroad and Lake Superior Railroad Museum for 2022 in order to support additional marketing of the historic, artistic, and promotional activities of the North Shore Scenic Railroad and Lake Superior Railroad Museum. This agreement is funded by tourism tax collections, and may be reduced or terminated in the event that insufficient proceeds are derived from hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
