RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG-CV-1) AUTHORIZED BY THE CORONAVIRUS AID, RELIEF, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY ACT (CARES ACT) AGREEMENT WITH ZEITGEIST CENTER FOR ARTS AND COMMUNITY.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a first amendment to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES ACT) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Healthy Hillside Campaign Agreement (City Contract No. 24024), substantially in the form attached hereto as Attachment 1, with Zeitgeist Center for Arts and Community, extending the term of the agreement to December 31, 2022.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The purpose of this resolution is to authorize a first amendment to the agreement with Zeitgeist Center for Arts and Community for the Cares Act CDBG Healthy Hillside Campaign Project and extend the term to December 31, 2022. Council approved the existing contract on July 20, 2020 via resolution 20-0577R which provided a contract termination date of March 31, 2021. Pursuant to the terms of the agreement, the Manager of Planning and Development authorized an extension to December 31, 2021 upon request from Zeitgeist Center for Arts and Community. Additional term extensions require approval by city council.

The Healthy Hillside Campaign provides outreach, communication, important information, and resource referral to the Hillside neighborhood to increase health, safety, and access to COVID-19 resources for low-to-moderate income families in Qualifying Census Tracts. The ongoing circumstances from the COVID-19 pandemic has created the need to extend the term of the contract to December 31, 2022 for continued community engagement and critical information sharing.
