CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of traffic operations coordinator (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on March 1, 2022, are approved. This classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 34, pay rate of $5,426 to $6,381 per month.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The new classification of traffic operations coordinator has been created to perform specialized electrical/electronic maintenance, repair, and installation of complex traffic signal and street lighting systems. The position also directs and coordinates the work activities of crews performing maintenance operations on traffic signal systems and street lighting systems. The position assists the city traffic engineer in managing construction projects and in reviewing professional engineering plans and specifications to ensure compliance with city standards. The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 34, pay rate of $5,436 to $6,381 per month.
