RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ACCEPT REIMBURSEMENT MONIES ON BEHALF OF THE DULUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT, SAID REIMBURSEMENT MONIES TO BE PAID UNDER THE MINNESOTA AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION GRANT FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESPONDING TO SIGNIFICANT INCREASES IN AUTO THEFT CASES.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept reimbursement monies from the Minneapolis Police Department, acting as the fiscal agent for the Minnesota Automobile Theft Prevention; said monies to be used to reimburse the Duluth Police Department’s Auto Theft Investigator for overtime expenses incurred while investigating auto thefts, carjackings, and catalytic converter thefts, as more fully set forth in the MOU attached hereto as document A.  Reimbursement monies to be deposited in Fund No. 215-200-2241-4220-02 (Duluth police grant programs, police, Minnesota Auto Theft Overtime, State of Minnesota operating) and expenses to be paid from fund number 215-200-2241-5700-10 (Duluth police grant programs, police, Minnesota Auto Theft Overtime, inter-fund transfer out to general fund).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to accept overtime reimbursement from the Minneapolis Police Department, acting as the fiscal agent for the Minnesota Department of Commerce. This MOU will remain in effect through June 30, 2023.
