CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Northland Constructors of Duluth, Inc. for Hidden Valley Phase 2 water main replacement and street preservation project in the amount of $2,347,400.00. This contract is payable from the following four sources as identified:
$1,203,614.69 from 510-500-1905-5533 (Water Utility Fund, Public Works & Utilities, Capital Improvements, Capital Improvement - Revenue), city project no. 1367.
$95,582.64 from 530-500-1905-5533 (Sanitary Utility Fund, Public Works & Utilities, Capital Improvements, Capital Improvement - Revenue), city project no. 1367.
$102,354.64 from 535-500-1905-5533 (Storm Utility Fund, Public Works & Utilities, Capital Improvements, Capital Improvement - Revenue), city project no. 1367.
$945,848.03 from 291-500-1945-5227 (Street Improvement Sales Tax Fund, Public Works & Utilities, Utility Operations, Utility System Maintenance Supplies), city project no. 1367.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize award of a contract to Northland Constructors of Duluth, Inc. in the amount of $2,347,400.00 for Hidden Valley phase 2 water main replacement and street preservation project. Northland Constructors of Duluth, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the three companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $2,050,800.00. Payable from Water, Sanitary, and Storm Utility capital improvement and Street Improvement sales tax funds as described in the body of the Resolution. 100% of the water main costs will be reimbursed from ARP federal funds.
