RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR OWNERSHIP AND MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY OF ROADWAY AND STORM SEWER ADJACENT TO TRUNK HIGHWAY 535 FROM 0.7 MILES SOUTH OF TRUNK HIGHWAY 35 TO 0.5 MILES NORTH OF MINNESOTA STATE LINE WITHIN THE CORPORATE CITY LIMITS UNDER STATE PROJECT NO. 6980-62, MNDOT CONTRACT NO. 1049671.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for ownership and maintenance responsibility of roadway and storm sewer adjacent to Trunk Highway 535 from 0.7 miles south of Trunk Highway 35 to 0.5 miles north of Minnesota state line within the city limits under State Project 6980-62 at no cost to the city.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the mayor and Cari Pedersen, chief engineer of transportation, are authorized to execute the agreement and any amendments to the agreement.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: MnDOT will be constructing roadway, storm sewer and lighting improvements adjacent to Trunk Highway 535 from 0.7 miles south of Trunk Highway 35 to 0.5 miles north of Minnesota state line. The project will be 100% funded by MnDOT.
