RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR OWNERSHIP AND MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY OF ROADWAY, SIDEWALK, STORM SEWER AND LIGHTING ADJACENT TO TRUNK HIGHWAY 53 FROM WEST MICHIGAN STREET TO 100 FEET SOUTH OF WEST FOURTH STREET WITHIN THE CORPORATE CITY LIMITS UNDER STATE PROJECT NO. 6915-138, MNDOT CONTRACT NO. 1049670.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for ownership and maintenance responsibility of roadway, sidewalk, storm sewer and lighting adjacent to Trunk Highway 53 from West Michigan Street to 100 feet south of West Fourth Street within the city limits under State Project 6915-138 at no cost to the city.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the mayor and Cari Pedersen, chief engineer of transportation, are authorized to execute the agreement and any amendments to the agreement.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: MnDOT will be constructing roadway, storm sewer and lighting improvements adjacent to Trunk Highway 53 from West Michigan Street to 100 feet south of West Fourth Street. The project will be 100% funded by MnDOT.
