CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Northland Constructors of Duluth Inc. for the construction of 1,500 feet of 20” HDPE water main, 1,520 feet of 12” HDPE gas main, and 973 feet of electrical duct bank. This contract is payable from the following sources as identified:
$566,210.26 from Gas Utility Fund 520, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 1328.
$1,471,448.03 from Water Utility Fund 510, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 1328.
$452,041.71 from Gas Utility Fund 520, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 1328 as a working fund to be reimbursed by Minnesota Power, an Allete Company.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize award of a contract to Northland Constructors of Duluth, Inc., in the amount of $2,489,700.00 for 1,500 feet of 20” HDPE water main, 1,520 feet of 12” HDPE gas main, and 973 feet of electrical duct bank to be constructed in Michigan Street between 1st Avenue West and 3rd Avenue East. Northland Constructors of Duluth, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the two companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $2,249,017.00. Payable from Gas and Water Utility capital improvement funds and Minnesota Power reimbursement as described in the body of the Resolution.
