CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the city of Rice Lake, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, to reimburse Rice Lake for sealing Austin Street on the Duluth side from Chicago Avenue to Kolstad Avenue, at a cost not to exceed $7,000, payable from city fund no. 290-500-5535 (Street System Maintenance Utility, Public Works & Utilities, Non-Capital Improvements), city project no. 2032.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with the city of Rice Lake for the 2022 chip seal project. St. Louis County has bid a large chip seal project and the city of Duluth and the city of Rice Lake are adding work into their bid package to achieve a savings of scale. The city intends to place a seal on Austin Street from Chicago Avenue to Kolstad Avenue. Austin Street lies on the border of Duluth and Rice Lake, and each party is responsible for the maintenance of said street lying within its borders. The county will administer the project. City project no. 2032, St. Louis County project no. CP 0000-690920, funding from the Street System Maintenance Utility.
