CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the City of Duluth does hereby accept, as a gift from the Duluth Area Pickleball Association, a $12,000 contribution to be deposited into 452-030-4660-HANDHTAX-1505 (Tourism and Recreational Projects, Finance, Gifts and Donations, Half and Half Tax Projects, Wade/Wheeler) to support work completed on the dedicated pickleball courts at the Wheeler Athletic Complex.
FURTHER RESOLVED, the city hereby expresses its appreciation for this gift on behalf of the City and its citizens.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes acceptance of a $12,000 contribution from the Duluth Area Pickleball Association to cover a portion of the cost of completed improvements to the dedicated pickleball courts at Wheeler Athletic Complex. Improvements included fencing and specialized court surface coating. The improvements were made as part of a three-year project to restore deteriorated community athletic facilities at Wheeler Athletic Complex and adjoining Wade Stadium.
