Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of a 2023 enclosed service van that functions as a mobile workshop for cutting and fitting pipe in the field to service and maintain the sanitary sewer system. The new van will replace unit 2744 which is 14 years old. The industry standard replacement lifecycle for this type of vehicle is 12 years.
The Purchasing Division posted the invitation to bid on July 18, 2022 on the City’s website and received one responsive bid by the closing date. City professional staff reviewed and verified the bid and determined that due to the specialized nature of the requested unit, one bid was not unusual. The bid price is within the range of this type of equipment.
