RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF PICNIC TABLES AND BENCHES FROM BRIGHT IDEA SHOPS, LLC IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,273.41.

CITY PROPOSAL:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to sole source purchase picnic tables and benches from Bright Idea Shops, LLC, in the amount of $48,273.41, payable from funds as follows:
$20,321.51 205-130-1220-5441 (Parks Fund - Community Resources - Parks Capital - Other Services & Charges) and
$27,951.90 205-130-1223-5219 (Parks Fund - Community Resources - ARPA Projects - Other Miscellaneous Supplies).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of 17 standard picnic tables, 12 wheelchair-accessible picnic tables, and 4 benches to be placed at various parks throughout the city from Bright Idea Shops, LLC in the amount of $48,273.41.
The vendor Bright Idea Shops, LLC is specified in the Park Maintenance Standards Manual to promote uniform amenities across the park system and improve efficiency when repairing or replacing amenities. The picnic tables and benches are made from recycled HDPE plastic composite, which has a higher durability and requires less on-going maintenance than alternative materials.
The funds for this purchase will come from the Parks Fund.
