CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Rachel Contracting LLC for the Brighton Beach Lakeshore Stabilization for a total amount not to exceed $710,266.00, payable from fund 225-125-1815-5310-STRM1018 (disaster recovery fund, finance, storm surge October 2018, contract services, storm surge October 10, 2018).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Rachel Contracting LLC for the Brighton Beach Lakeshore Stabilization for an amount not to exceed $710,266.00.
This project restores the lakeshore along Brighton Beach that was heavily damaged from storms in recent years and is part of a broader initiative to redesign the park to withstand future storm surges.
Construction for this segment includes stone reinforcement of the shoreline, removal of hazardous debris, regrading of the beach area to improve storm resilience and accessibility, expansion of existing drainage channels, and preparing the park grounds for new woodland growth.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on August 18th, 2022 and received four bids as listed below. Rachel Contracting submitted the lowest responsive bid.
