CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into an agreement with St. Louis County, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, for the 2023 chip seal project at various locations in the city of Duluth. The city’s cost is estimated to be $300,000, to be paid from Street Improvement Fund 440, Department/Agency 038 (Public Works & Utilities), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings, St. Louis County project CP 0000-655516, city project no. 2103.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with St. Louis County for the 2023 chip seal project. The county is bidding a large chip seal project and the city is adding work into their bid package to achieve a savings of scale. The city intends to place a chip seal on portions of 94th Avenue West, Boyd Avenue, 95th Avenue West, Clay Street, West Skyline Parkway, North First Avenue East, 21st Avenue East, Lakewood Road, Ridgewood Road, Pinewood Lane, East Third Street, East Fourth Street, Mellwood Avenue, Crescent View Avenue and Glenwood Street. The county will bid and administer the project and the city will provide construction inspection on the city portion of the project. City project no. 2103, St. Louis County project no. CP 0000-655516, funding from the Street Improvement Fund.
