CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that contract L 30547 with Hanco Utilities, Inc. for construction of the 2021 Excess Flow Valve and Bollard Installation, City Project No. 1967, be increased in the amount of $145,375.00 for a new total of $435,000.00, payable from fund 520-500-1905-5533 (gas utility, Public Works & Utilities, capital improvements, revenue).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize an amendment to contract L30547 with Hanco Utilities, Inc. for related expenses for the installation of gas main and fiber optic conduits, increasing the contract amount by $145,375.00 for a new total of $435,000.00.
The change in project scope is for the addition of new gas main and the first segment of city-wide fiber to be built in Lincoln Park in conjunction with Minnesota Power’s duct bank project in the same area in order to perform these services at a significantly reduced cost and allow the City to follow the new One-Dig policy.
$75,000 of the increased cost is for installation of the fiber optic conduits, which is being funded by a transfer from DEDA as authorized by DEDA Resolution D22-65.
