CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to execute a sole source purchase of replacement pumps for Lift Stations 10, 11, 12 and 25 from Quality Flow Systems for a total amount not to exceed $46,070, payable from fund 530-500-1945-5220 (sewer, Public Works and Utilities, utility operations, repair & maintenance supplies).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the sole source purchase of replacement pumps for Lift Stations 10, 11, 12 and 25 from Quality Flow Systems for a total amount not to exceed $46,070.
The purchase of these pumps will be to replace failing existing pumps in lift stations that currently utilize KSB pumps. Quality Flow Systems is the regional representative of this brand of pump, and purchasing and installing a different brand of pump would require costly customization, including installing a different rail, connector and panel at each station. Changing to a different brand of pump would also hinder our ability to continue future standardization of our lift stations.
