CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept an additional grant award from the office of national drug control policy, high intensity drug trafficking areas (HIDTA) program, in the amount of $22,845 for a total FY 2021 grant award in the amount of $122,845.00, said monies to be used by the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force for supplies and equipment expenses incurred during participation in the Lake Superior Drug Corridor Initiative, and further are authorized to execute a grant agreement substantially the same as the attached Document A, funds to be deposited in Fund No. 215-200-2230-4209-02 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, HIDTA, Direct Federal Grant Operating) and expenses to be paid from Fund No. 215-200-2230-5219 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, HIDTA, Other Miscellaneous Supplies).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to accept an additional grant award from the Office of National Drug Control Policy in the amount of $22,845.00 to support the activities of the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force in connection with its participation in the HIDTA Program.  The Duluth Police Department is a member of the Task Force and also its fiscal agent.  These additional funds may be used for supplies and equipment expenses.  This grant period of this additional award is January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023.
