RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH DULUTH & NORTH SHORE RR DBA NORTH SHORE SCENIC RAILROAD/LAKE SUPERIOR RAILROAD MUSEUM IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS; the city council approved $50,000 as an operating subsidy to Duluth & North Shore RR dba North Shore Scenic Railroad/Lake Superior Railroad Museum (North Shore Railroad) in resolution 22-0786R passed on October 10, 2022 that appropriated the estimated 2023 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with North Shore Railroad, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, payable from 258-030-5436-12; (tourism taxes fund, finance, tourism tax allocations, miscellaneous).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with North Shore Railroad for 2023 in order to support their tourism, community involvement, educational and promotional activities. This agreement is funded by tourism tax collections, and may be reduced or terminated in the event that insufficient proceeds are derived from hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
